The museum has an on-line version of our comprehensive catalogue of the collection and archives, aimed at those undertaking research into railway, mining and local history, those who are unable to visit us in person, and visitors wanting a little more information.
The catalogue provides visitors with information on items in the collection that are on display, in our large back-store, and to some of our archives.
The process of cataloguing is on-ongoing, and the on-line cataloge will be updated periodically.
There is a Contact-Us feature within the catalogue for enquiries, or you can use the contacts page on this website.
You will need to register in the on-line guestbook within the catalogue to us it. Further information is shown on the catalogue home page.
When you have logged in you will see guidance on usingthe catalogue. It is possible to browse by cataegories of object through pop-up menus and sub-menus, to select from a list of object creators, to search by object number or any other term, and to refine searches by a combination of these. A list of objects is displayed, and you can click on one to see further information an image (for most objects). Images can be clicked to see a larger version.
